Yasser al-Atrash, Baladi News
Despite the fact that the governorate of Idlib is not the smallest in space or the least in population in Syria, but it has always been under the reign of Assad, whether the father or the son, the neglected and forgotten governorate, which was only important in the security side. The Syrian " leadership" was keen on sending the most powerful intelligence officers to Idlib in order to govern it with a security fist, leaving no breathing space to a civilian life or even a civilian authority.
The root of the Assad's hatred on Idlib dates back to 1971, when Hafez al-Assad visited the city being the prime minister at that time. During the visit which he wanted to consolidate his coup and authority, the residents of the city pelted him with shoes and tomatoes.
The Awakening of Hatred!
After the landslide victory in the battel of breaking the siege of Aleppo, overt calls for annihilating Aleppo have started to emerge under the pretext that it's the first and last responsible city for the victory of Aleppo, especially that "Jaish al-Fatah" started from Idlib and it's the one who led the battel and won it in a few days".
"I swear by God who raised the heaven and spread the earth, the governorate of Idlib will be exterminated", the Admin of "Safita News Network" threatened. All the catastrophes of Syria are because of this governorate, according to the admin. Everyone who fought and still fighting in Aleppo is from Idlib and everyone who fights in the countryside of Latakia is from Idlib.
In an explicit admission of the genocide committed by the Syrian regime in Hama, the admin threatened with the same destiny by saying: "He who has created the heavens, they will be burned and slaughtered just like what happened in Hama in 1982". He concluded his criminal call by holding the regime responsible because it didn't annihilate the governorate of Idlib since the beginning of the revolution in 2011.

With the beginning of the Syrian revolution, the governorate of Idlib was one of the first governorates which has sided almost entirely with the revolution, and was a symbol of its "peaceful symbols".
When the revolution has entered its armed phase after the Syrian regime's excessive murder and amidst the international salience over its crimes, Idlib was the forerunner with its children's sacrifices, and which witnessed the birth of Jaish al-Fatah who liberated the city after most of its countryside has been liberated. Jaish al-Fatah has completed liberating the city of Idlib along with Jisir al-Shughur and Ariha, then effectively contributed to the rebels' battels on the fronts of other governorates, especially in Latakia, Hama, and Aleppo.
