After prominent advances achieved by the Syrian resistance forces over two days of the battle of breaking the siege on Aleppo, the regime forces, supported by the Russian air forces, escalated its aggressions against civilians. Meanwhile, Daraa governorate started to witness defections and insurgences that were attributed to the unresponsiveness of the leaders of rebel-factions to the people’s demands of opening frontlines to mitigate pressure on Aleppo and Damascus country sides.
In the northern governorate of Aleppo, 30 civilians were killed and dozens were wounded in missiles and barrel bombs airstrikes on several districts in the city and its country sides.
Reports indicated that the victims fell according to the following statistics: 2 in al-Ansari, one in al-Saliheen, 5 in al-Sukkari, 2 in Bustan al-Qasr, 4 in al-Amiriya, and 8 in al-Mashhad in the city, and 7 in al-Atareb as well as one in Kafar Hamra in the countryside of Aleppo.
The attacks also wounded dozens of civilians and caused formidable destructions to the builings. Meanwhile, the civil defense teams worked hard to take the wounded to makeshift hospitals.
The regime aggressions against civilians also covered the areas of al-Kallasa, Masaken al-Firdous, and Jisr al-Haj in the city as well as Darat Azza, Abyan, al-Sheikh Ali, and al-Layramoun in the countryside. In addition, the Syrian regime and the Russian air fighters and helicopters targeted the neighborhoods of al-Rashideen, al-Rashideen al-Khamisa, Aqrab, the surroundings of al-Hikma School and 1070 Project with missiles, barrel-bombs, and naval mines amid sporadic clashes and ongoing missile and artillery shelling on these areas.
Militarily speaking, the rebels thwarted an attack launched by “al-Quds Battalion” on Handarat camp in Aleppo northern countryside under the cover of heavy Russian airstrikes and artillery shelling from Handarat village. The two opponents were involved in fierce clashes, during which the rebels inflicted heavy losses on the battalion. On the other hand, the rebels declared destroying a pick-up truck and killing a number of Hezbollah militias on board on Ramouse road.
In Idlib, two civilians were killed and two others were injured in mortar shelling by an unknown party on al-Taakhi camp bear the Turkish borders. Also, a youngster and a girl were killed in airstrikes by the regime war planes on Saraqeb in the northeastern countryside of Idlib, meanwhile a young man died in regime airstrikes on al-Dana town in the northern countryside. These attacks also wounded other civilians, including children, some of whom were at critical cases.
Other cities and towns in Idlib countryside were also bombarded, including Binnish, Sijar, al-Kriez, and Binin, but the damages were limited to material ones. Meanwhile, a ballistic missile was fired by Russian warships at the environs of Jisr a-lShogour, killing a civilian.
In Lattakia to the west, the regime forces targeted the villages of Kbina,Kansaba, and Qalaat Shalaf with heavy artillery and missiles, but no casualties were recorded.
Moving to Hama, the rebels fired several missiles at Hama military airport, scoring direct hits, meanwhile several airstrikes and bombardments by the regime targeted the cities of Kafar Zita and al_Latamina as well as the village of Latmin. Al-Aqirbat town and villages also underwent several airstrikes by the regime, which caused a number of injuries amongst civilians. Meanwhile, a child was killed when a cluster bomb of the remnants of the Russian airstrikes exploded near him in al-Latamina city.
In Homs, a civilian was killed and two others injured after being shot at by a sniper positioned up Homs Grand Hospital, meanwhile three others were killed in airstrikes on al-Gasibiyya village near Izz al-Din in Homs northern countryside. In addition, several civilians were injured in artillery and missile shelling on Talbiseh and al-Ghanto on Wednesday morning.
In the eastern Ghouta of Damascus countryside, a woman and her son were killed in Harasta, a civilian man was killed in Ain Tarma, and another civilian was also killed in Arbin in airstrikes and mortar shelling by the regime forces. Material damages also resulted in several airstrikes by the regime forces on the towns of al-Shifoniya, al Rayhan, and al-Nashabiyya.
In Damascus western countryside, a civilian was killed in airstrikes by the regime war planes on Khan al-Sheih camp, meanwhile several civilians were wounded in Darayya after dropping napalm stuffed barrel-bombs. Whereas, the western parts of Darayya witnessed clashes between the rebels and the regime forces, during which the rebels could break down a tank of the offensive forces.
In Daraa, Busra al-Sham, the city located in the eastern countryside, witnessed a turmoil between Shabab al-Sunna forces and the civilians due to a dispute between leaders in the forces and one of the families. Heavy infights also broke out at al-Shayyah barricade south from Daraa al-Balad among factions from the southern frontline after a group from the artillery battalion defected, which caused three casualties. Whereas the city of Ibtaa underwent an artillery shelling by the regime forces, but no casualties were reported.
In Al-Sweida city, a crowded demonstration was convened to demand for the punishment of criminals charged with a murder and protected by the security forces. The crowds marched from Tishreen Square towards the Gallows Square and gave the regime security a period of 24 hours to submit the criminals, otherwise, they would launch a sweeping popular rebellion.
