Democratic Union Party (PYD) has gained the confidence of the international coalition countries after presenting itself as a reliable ally to the countries which declared war on "Terrorism", which involved it in an international alliance led by the US, sponsor of "Democracy and Capitalism", despite being a fanatic Marxist, leftist, and totalitarian party which puts "armed struggle", on the top list of its ways in achieving its goals. It's also considered a branch of a party categorized as terrorist within many of the international lists. There has been a clear tendency in the West to depend on this party in the war against "ISIS", in addition to canceling the idea of arming the Syrian opposition even the moderate one.
This has allowed the Kurdish Units to expand and occupy areas that extend from the Syrian-Iraqi borders in the east reaching the countryside of Aleppo, passing through the northern part of al-Raqqah governorate along with expanding to the south reaching the administrative borders of Deir al-Zor.
Throughout this expansion, one of the largest ethnic cleansing operations in Syria was carried out which included hundreds of Arab villages that have been bombarded by coalition warplanes after the Kurdish Units delivered their coordinates as being locations for "ISIS".
The inability of Kurdish Units of entering real ground confrontations and to avoid inflicting human losses among their ranks, pushed them to recruit the rest components of non-Kurdish backgrounds in different ways, including: seducing in gains and positions and conscription which added to their indignation and behavior in the region they control.
Some observers believe that in the light of these important data, PYD seeks to maintain this big gain through betting on this great support by coalition countries.
In this regard, the journalist Abdul Rahim Asa'ad says: "the Democratic Union Party achieved these victories and this expansion only with the help of its allies, where the beginning was with the Syrian regime, following its withdrawal from certain areas of al-Hassakah and delivering them to it, as well as support and the big military coordination with it. Soon the situation was developed and the International coalition led by the United States participated alongside the party in its war against ISIS".
"Russia's insistence on the party's attendance at Genève conference as a representative of the Kurds, has constituted a pivotal pillar to it, and if the allies continued to provide support, the party will be able to build its own entity in the region soon, Asa'ad told Baladi News.
Asa'ad went on saying: "if the international balances changed, the party will definitely be affected as it hasn't got the ability whether financially or militarily to assume the burdens of all these geographical areas it controls, despite not giving any importance to the number of the dead in its war. It had previously lost many in the operations of Tal Hmeis, Eyn al-Arab, and now in Manbij", pointing out that the party is compensating this through conscription and bringing members from Turkey or Qandil.
Meanwhile, a source who preferred to be anonymous said: "The Democratic Union, (the Syrian arm of the Kurdistan Workers' Party "PKK"), seeks to preserve what has been achieved for it on the Syrian territory by relying on a network of relations with various major active powers in the Syrian file. This party does not depend on a fixed principle in the relation with any party, but what is permanent in the equation is its dependence on more than an ally, as well as conducting everything on this earth for the benefit of its project. "
The source added that the party exploits its influence in the areas under its control, and imposes a state of mobilization which affects all sections of society, and from all ages in order to involve them in the war. The source also confirmed that the most important obstacles the party is facing in its areas is considering it as an "occupation force" and not accepting it from the people who will revolt against it sooner or later.
