"Amaq" news agency affiliated to "ISIS" has announced on Wednesday the death of "Omar al-Shishani" in battels in the Iraqi city of al-Shirqat near al-Mousel.

"al-Shishiani" is considered one of the most towering figures of "ISIS" in Syria, which he entered at the beginning of 2013 and formed what is known as "the army of Muhaajireen and Ansaar" which emerged in the process of controlling the military airbase of Menagh in August 2013.

"al-Shishiani" has joined "ISIS" before the announcement of the "Caliphate" and participated in seizing control over several regions in Syria after the war ISIS had launched against the rebels' factions north and northeast of Syria in Aleppo, al-Raqqah, and Dier al-Zour east of Syria.

He had the most prominent role in the battel of controlling the military airbase of al-Tabakah in al-Raqqah governorate in August 2014. He was also one of the well-known attendants accompanying ISIS's commanders and Abi Muhammed al-Adnani while canceling the borders between Syria and Iraq and this is the moment ISIS had announced the "Caliphate", in which the name of ISIS was changed to "Islamic State" organization in the late of June 2014.

Syrian Democratic militias "SDF" said in last March that "al-Shishani" was killed by an American airstrike, but Amaq news agency denied the news at that time.
