Regime forces have suffered heavy losses in lives and materiel five days after launching Al-Yarmouk's battel by the rebels for liberating the areas controlled by regime forces and Iranian militias, especially with the beginning of the Russian intervention and regime forces' aerial and land support in order to advance towards the mountains of Kurds and Turkmen in the northern countryside of Latakia.

Private sources confirmed to Baladi News that the number of dead people among the regime during the five past days reached 115, while the number of wounded exceeded 320. According to the same sources, violent clashes broke out between regime forces and National Defense members (Thugs) in the city of Latakia following the increase of casualties. Moreover, the thugs refused to go out to the fighting battles because their volunteering contracts provide serving and fighting within the city of Latakia.

The Republican Guard announced establishing the Coast Shield forces through paper advertisements published within the areas under its control in the coast, following the great victories achieved by the "Army of Conquest" in Idlib governorate one and a half year ago.

The admission requirements for the "Shield Coast" members at that time were by signing volunteering contracts with it for two years, or permanent contracts in addition to reserve contracts and compulsory service.  The Republican Guard also announced "settling the conditions for those who ran away from military service, whether compulsory or reserve, in addition to the escape cases along with monthly salaries of about $ 40 thousand Syrian pounds in exchange for joining the new formation.

The "Brigade" belongs directly to Rami Makhlouf, Bashar Al-Assad's cousin, and is supervised by Al-Boustan Charitable association which is also belongs to Rami. The organizers of the Brigade are planning to add 10 thousand members through tempting them with money and other incentives.

The estimates indicate the death of 25 thousand young men from Latakia and its countryside during the battels, whereas the percentage of females in the city and its countryside reached 75% after the regime has involved them to defend the seat of power in Syria.
