Baladi News – Aleppo (Ziad al-Halabi)
To shed light on the Russian massacres against civilians in Aleppo, and particularly the recent use of internationally prohibited weapons including burning phosphorous and cluster bombs, activists from the city created a hashtag titled #Stop_Russia’s_Terrorism
Zain al-Rifai , a media activist and a creator of the hashtag, said to Baladi News that “a number of Syrian activists launched a campaign to expose the Russian crimes in the cities of Aleppo and Idlib and to shed light on the terrorist assault of Russia as well as the Syrian regime against civilians in the city of Aleppo.”
“For successive eight months, Russian crimes have been perpetrated against the Syrian people. Russian war planes are targeting residential neighborhoods in Aleppo city and countryside with various types of internationally prohibited weapons, which caused dozens of casualties amid deafening silence by the international community despite the fact that social networks include myriads of videos and pictures documenting these crimes.”
Al-Refai called upon “the whole world to share the Syrian people’s tragedy through the hashtag #Stop_Russia’s_Terrorism”
It is noteworthy that for about 40 days, Russian war planes have been bombarding Aleppo countryside with various internationally prohibited weapons. Recently, and on Saturday in particular, the war planes intensified their shelling of burning cluster and phosphorous bombs on neighborhoods inside Aleppo city.
