Rebels Liberate Khalsa and Zitan in Aleppo and Advance in Lattakia

Late on Friday night, Jaysh al-Fatah announced the liberation of Khalsa and Zitan in Aleppo northern countryside after fierce battles against Iranian, Iraqi and Afghan militias that sustained dozens of casualties, which paves the way for liberating the Strategic town of al-Hader, the most important target for the rebels.

Also in Aleppo, the regime air forces, backed by Russian war planes, targeted different areas with barrel bombs, vacuum missiles, naval mines, and cluster bombs, synchronized with heavy artillery shelling. The attacks killed 7 civilians in al-Katirji neighborhood, 3 in Tariq Al Bab, and 1 on Castello road north from the city, wounded dozens, and caused formidable destruction to infrastructure. The regime attacks also targeted the neighborhoods of al-Myuassar, Qadi Askar, Dawwar al-Halwaniyya and Dawwar al-Jazmati, meanwhile the Kurdish units participated in the shelling from their quarters in Sheikh Maqsood.

In the countryside, Haritan, Kafr Hamra, Anadan, and Hayyan towns were shelled in the north as well as Darat Azza and Atarib in the west. Meanwhile, fierce clashes between the regime and the rebels took place on al-Mallah front while the regime forces were trying to advance, which inflicted heavy losses on the attacking forces.

In Idlib, Russian air forces dropped cluster bombs on Khan Shaykhun, which killed a woman and wounded 5 civilians including children, whereas two bombs were detonated when two trucks were passing on the road between Hazazin and Ma’aret Hurma, which caused injuries among the passengers including two women.

The Syrian regime air forces also dropped cluster bombs on the southern environs of Maar Shourin and the northern outskirts of Saraqib where fires were caused in the farm lands.

Moving westwards to Lattakia, the rebels waged a surprising attack and regained the villages of Burj al-Hayat, Shahroura, and Ain Issa, which had been captured a day earlier by the regime forces in Kurd Mountains. After the attack, heavy air strikes targeted the liberated villages as well as other areas in Kurd Mountains, but no casualties were reported.

In Hamah, 5 civilians were killed, including two women and three children, and others were wounded when airstrikes targeted Talal-Za’tar camp east from Atshan town, meanwhile the villages of Atshan, al-Qubaibat and Uqayribat were hit with missiles, but no casualties were reported. In the northern countryside, Murak and Al-Lataminah cities were subjects to air strikes that caused injuries among civilians, meanwhile al-Qantara village in the south undergone artillery shelling that caused no casualties.

In Homs, Talbiseh city in the northern countryside underwent heavy artillery shelling after Tarawih prayers, which caused injuries among civilians and material damages to residential buildings. Material losses were reported in artillery shelling on Izz al-Din and Oyoun Hasan villages in the east.

In Damascus countryside, 4 civilians were killed, including two women and a child, and others were wounded in Syrian regime air strikes on al-Bahharia, al-Nashabia, and al-Mayda’ani in al-Marj, which also caused damages to the building. In addition, clashes broke out between the rebels and the regime forces on Damascus-Homs Highway and Jisreen fronts under heavy artillery shelling on both areas.

In the western countryside, the regime air forces fired missiles on the outskirts of Khan Al-Shih, as well as Zakia and Der Khabeyah, which caused damages to properties.

In Daraa, 4 Russian air strikes were conducted on al-Soura town in the eastern countryside, which caused injuries to civilians and damages do residential buildings, meanwhile artillery shelling was conducted by the regime against Al-Yadudah front, Dar'a al-Balad, and Zamrin.

On the other hand, Free Syrian Army soldiers dismantled a bomb planted inside a mosque to assassinate Abu al-Baraa , head of the court house in the city.
