Baladi News - Al-Hasakah (Omar al-Hassan)
Government of the so-called “Self-administration” of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) started collecting Zakat al-Fitr “Fast-breaking Charity”, which is one of the Islamic charities, in the neighborhoods of al-Qamishli city.
Activists said that the representative of the Self-administration in al-Antaria neighborhood met with all members of the “Neighborhood Administration Council”, asked them to collect the charity funds from the residents, and then hand them over to the presidency of the council.
The activists added that the Self-administration had collected the same charity in "Corniche" neighborhood, indicating that such procedure will be applied in all neighborhoods of al-Qamishli city, which are under the control of the Democratic Union Party.
Oddly enough, the party pursues a secular policy based on Marxist philosophy, which considers such a step incompatible with its principles that do not recognize the existence of God.
In the same context, Abu Omar al-Hasakawi, member of Youth Union of al-Hasaka, told Baladi News that “the Self-administration spares no effort in taking over people’s charities to fund its activities!”
The speaker clarified that the militants of the Self-administration, which adopts a Marxist policy, had destroyed a number of mosques. Activists also shared photos showing a female member of the administration violate the sanctity of a mosque in Al-Shaddadah city in al-Hasaka southern countryside.
Another paradox was that the Marxist militia had established an “Islamic committee,” supervised by the party, in order to have full control over the religious life of people in its controlled areas.
