Baladi News – Idlib (Mohammed Karkas)
“He felt that something bad was going to happen. He said to me, “I want to go home immediately in order to take them down to the vault. I am afraid that the missiles of Assad’s war planes might hit our house””, said Abu-Abdu al-Harami, brother of Issam al-Harami, a father who lost his whole family, including his wife and his five children, in a Syrian regime airstrike on Idlib on Sunday.
The speaker added, “We were warned that war planes took off from Hama military airport and headed towards Idlib. Soon, he told me that he wanted to go home in order to take his family down to the vault beneath his house. On our way home, war planes bombarded his house. When we arrived, the house had been turned into rubble.”
A member of civil defence teams said, “we worked for more than three hours after the airstrike. At the end, we could extricate two women and a little girl from Hamsho family. We also extricated a mother and her five children, including a pair of twins five months old after war planes completely wrecked their house. We also picked-up the corpse of a child, who had been displaced from Hama, on the road side”
Issam lost all that he had in life, his wife and five children, and could not at least bid them farewell before they died. He worked with the civil defence teams for three hours of agony, wishing to find at least one of them alive.
Issam is one of many people who lost their families in air strikes on Idlib by the Syrian regime, although the city had no military manifestations after all the rebel forces had evacuated their positions inside the city.
