Iraqi Shiite Militias Boost their Presence in Aleppo

Military media of the Iraqi Shiite Imam Ali Battalions published pictures of dozens of its fighters, led by head of the battalions, Mohammed al-Bawi, participating in the military campaign waged by the Syrian regime and supporting Iranian militias against Aleppo southern countryside.

According to the source, the fighters who appeared heavily armed and fitted with high-end military equipment, including a robot plane, were preparing for a battle in their training camps in Aleppo countryside.

Despite the huge support by superpowers for Shiite Asian and Arabic militias in Aleppo battles, rebel battalions affiliated with Jaysh al-Fatah military operations room, managed to launch several counter offences, took several locations from these forces, and captured five soldiers from Harakat al-Nujaba militia.

In an exclusive interview with Baladi News, member of media office of the first regiment in Jaysh al-Fatah, Mohammed al-Sheihk, said that “the prisoners were captured while Shiite militias were attempting to advance towards Khan Touman warehouses. However, the forces were repelled, and the rebels could liberate al-Qarrasi town and capture the militants who are still under questioning.”

On the other hand, Noureddine Zanki movement, working under the wing of “Aleppo Conquest” operations room, declared that it seized a T90 Russian tank. After repelling an attack by the regime forces and its supporting Shiite militias on the strategic area of al-Mallah, overlooking Castello road, the last remaining life vein for the rebels in Aleppo, which caused dozens of casualties among the attacking forces, the rebels could launch a counter attack and seize big amounts of weapons and ammunitions, in addition to the tank.
