An official source in the militias of the "Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)", who are mainly Kurdish, revealed on Friday that France has started to build a military base in the eastern town of Ayn al-Arab in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo just like the Americans.
Kurdish media affiliated to the Democratic Union Party (PYD), which is controlling Ayn Al-Arab, reported him saying "France has started building the base on "Mashtanour" plateau which is overlooking the city of Ayn Al-Arab from the southeastern front".
"French, British and American experts are now in the countryside of Manbij providing some advice to the SDF forces in their war against ISIS", the source added.
The source also revealed that "dozens of French and British experts have recently arrived at the PYD-held areas north of Syria in order to provide support and assistance to the Syrian Democratic Forces".
United States, which is leading the international coalition against "ISIS", had preceded France and built two air bases in the city of Ayn Al-Arab and in the town of Rmelan in the countryside of Al-Hasakah.
It is noteworthy that a source in the French Defense Ministry confirmed on Thursday that the attack of SDF militias on the city of Manbij east of Aleppo was supported by some countries, including France. He also pointed out that French forces do not directly intervene in the fighting, but provide only advice and consultation.
