The commander of “16 Quds”, a special forces battalion in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, “Jahangir Jaafari” had been reported killed by media agencies, to have been the second officer killed in the battles of Aleppo’s countryside after the retired commander in the Iranian army “Mohammed Zalaqi”.
Until the time of writing this report, fierce battles had taken place for the fourth day in a row between Jaysh al-Fatah and Iranian militias in Aleppo’s southern countryside. The battles, mainly focused around the strategic village of Khalsa, witnessed the death of more than 100 Iranian militants, including at least 50 during the night of Sunday and the early morning of Monday.
