Is the US-led Coalition Preparing for a Military Operation in Aleppo?

Ma'amoun Al-Sayiad, Baladi News, Aleppo

The city of Manbij located in the eastern countryside of Aleppo was subjected, two days ago, to an aerial bombardment by the International Coalition air force along with the Russian and Syrian warplanes which resulted in the death of many civilians. Furthermore, ISIS members deployed in the surroundings of the city forbidding the civilians from leaving unless they provide a travel permit.

International Coalition air force targeted, on Tuesday, the city of Manbij with several air strikes that led to the destruction of Al-Ghassania School completely, while some civilians were wounded in Al-Hamadania neighborhood due to targeting it with an airstrike, in addition to bombing Al-Jazaeera road with two missiles which did not explode.

People of the cities of Manbij and Jarabulus in the eastern countryside of Aleppo have shared some images through the social networking websites showing the International Coalition aircrafts dropping leaflets on the people that resemble the "Travel Permit" issued by ISIS, calling upon the people of the city to leave the region.

The battles approached the city of Manbij especially after the renewal of fighting on its southern fronts near Al-Shuhada'a dam amidst an intensive aerial bombardment by coalition air force in preparation for the advancement of "Syrian Democratic Forces" militias.

Some observers believe that the reason behind dropping such leaflets on the cities of Manbij and Jarabulus is to displace civilians towards the city of Azaz in the northern countryside of Aleppo and then to Turkey aiming at putting pressure on the latter and paving the way for "SDF" militias which aim at controlling the regions west of Euphrates to connect the cities of Ayn Al-Arab and Afrin through Jarabulus and Azaz.

The Sharia court in the city of Azaz north of Aleppo declared two days ago that they have stopped receiving the displaced people coming from the towns and villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo due to ISIS's attack on the city of Mare` and the inability of the city of Azaz to contain more of the displaced as well as the fear of the existence of "Suspected Cells" among the displaced that belong to "ISIS".

The Court explained that its decision came as a result of the overcrowding of the liberated northern countryside with the displaced and the inability to contain the displaced coming from the neighboring eastern regions, as well as fearing of the systematic and compulsory displacement operations which aim at changing the residential demography in favor of division and building the alleged Kurdish state.
