lack of sanitation in Lattakia's Hospitals Cause Anger

Baladi News – Lattakia (Abu Ammar Al-ladqani)

Comments on pro-Syrian Regime Facebook pages, such as “Lattakia Now”, reported some observations that reflect a huge level of negligence and corrupt in the hospitals of Lattakia governorate, such as Lattakia National Hospital, Red Crescent Hospital, and Al-nour hospital in Jableh.

One person said: “I saw a 12 years old boy bleeding in a corridor of Lattakia hospital. He was so weak and needed an IV bag, but nobody gave him any attention”.

Another one wrote: “There were wounded soldiers begging nurses to treat them, and when one of them asked for bandages to treat himself, a nurse told him to go to a pharmacy to buy some.”

Some supporters were particularly angry at the loss of the dead bodies of casualties of the recent explosions in Jableh and Tartous, meanwhile others complained that some corpses were swapped, such as the family of Nour, a 13 years old boy, who received the dead body of a man in his thirties instead of the corpse of their child.

Commenting on the situation in Lattakia National Hospital, one person said: “I saw doctors entering rooms full of waiting patients just to ask about the names, then they left without examining anyone. In the hospital yard, corpses scattered on the ground, waiting for their families to search for them,”

According to the eyewitness, who branded the hospital as a slaughterhouse, many patients come to the hospital to receive treatment, but perish due to doctors’ negligence.

A system of sectarian quotas is prevailing in the city of Lattakia. In addition, the city is suffering from deteriorating security situation, as security departments turn a blind eye to the crimes of the Shabiha thugs. It was reported that an armed man ran over a traffic policeman, but the police overlooked the incident because the person belongs to a powerful family.
