A court affiliated to the so-called "Autonomy" in Afrin north of Aleppo has ruled against two men whose names were undeclared to head to the fighting fronts of the Democratic Union Party due to their "humiliation of martyrs and People's Protection Units as well as women" after refusing to recruit their children within the party's militias.
"Hawar" news agency of the Democratic Union Party reported that: "Thousands of people of Balablah town and families of martyrs and militants gathered in the town's center square and held a meeting run by the Democratic Society Movement along with Star Conference in coordination with the people's court in order to take the opinion of the party's supporters about the sentence they see appropriate against the two men from the people of the town of Balbalah".
The court offered the families of the dead to take the appropriate sentence saying: "Due to the regime's dependence on people's decision in Rojava north of Syria, people today will have the right to sentence these two men and we will abide by any judgement they take", according to the agency. After the supporters of the Democratic Union Party had proposed three sentences that have been voted on, the result, by the majority, was to send the two men to battel fronts to fight alongside the party's militias.
The spokesman for the Kurdish Future Movement, Jian Omar said: "we have reiterated many times that the Democratic Union Party is an inclusive party that seeks to build an authoritarian dictatorial regime and considers democracy and dissent an enemy that must be fought, and this's what they've done against a lot of Kurdish activists and politicians."
"A lot of these unjust sentences were issued during the past years against patriots and honorable Kurds opposing the Syrian regime, but they were executed secretly and denied by the party before the media and public opinion, and this change in the declaration of such fascist verdicts encourages the culture of Jungle law", he added.
The opposed Kurdish spokesman said that the sentence "confirms the theory that criminality and authoritarian practices of totalitarian regimes increase with their power and might ; and perhaps not holding such party accountable for the previous crimes and massacres it committed in Amuda and Tel Ghazal along with the assassination of the Kurdish political activists and receiving military support from international parties contributed to the intransigence of this party and the excessiveness in its dictatorial practices which will not stop at such military trials that contradict the most basic principles of human rights."
Omar stressed that the sentence against civilians is "a war crime as the civilians were accused of treason and will be forced to go to the battlefronts and most likely will be killed. Such practices are found in the history of dictatorship of Stalin and global fascism."
It's noteworthy that militias of Democratic Union Party resorted to arrest young people and forcibly throw them in the battlefronts, the thing that prompted thousands of young people to escape the party-held areas in the northern part of Syria heading to adjacent regions.
