Is Raqqa another gift to so-called Kurdish group? It is utterly heartbreaking to ask a question in which you talk about a city being offered as a gift to a terrorist organization? However, this is what exactly had happened in many northern Syrian towns for the past couple of years.
Having cover names is the simplest way for terrorist organizations to open channels for new alliances or let their affiliates do the dirtiest jobs in the field. What is happening in northern parts of Syria is United States approved plan to present these regions to the People’s Protection Units (YPG) in a golden plate.
Pointing out several facts would easily portray the dirty deal in Syria.
The U.S. has simply abandoned those who raised their voice for a democratic Syria. The opposition groups had been weakened with the cuts in military and humanitarian supports. They had been watched getting crushed by the regime, Russians, Shiite militia groups and the YPG. Washington later decided to heavily support the YPG, affiliates of which are raging war against the Turkish state.
YPG immediately formed an imaginary group called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which included several thousands of local Arabs in YPG held territories. Other than U.S. easing Turkey’s concerns, the SDF was established as a cover by the YPG to grab international attention and support. With the help of Russian airstrikes, the group gained new territories from Syrian opposition and with the American bombardments, some region held by ISIS were captured by the YPG-SDF.
Although Washington says it only sent several hundreds of Special Forces to Syria, these units have been spotted on the frontlines in various northern towns like, Hasakah, Tisreen Dam and now near Raqqa. These American soldiers are not only advising but also assisting the YPG on the front line in targeting Raqqa countryside. In the photos from the offensive, the U.S. soldiers are seen wearing the PKK-linked YPG badges.
Yes, Americans’ new ally in Syria is a Marxist organizations that have forced out all Kurdish groups that oppose their ideology. This group also sent its suicide bomber to U.S. NATO ally Turkey, claiming dozens of lives after he blew himself up in the Turkish capital.
Portraying the Raqqa offensive as some sort of liberation is not true. The media and world powers should not remain indifferent to terrorist organizations.
The five-pointed red star has often served since about 1917 as a symbol of communism. U.S. soldiers, who now wear the YPG badge that has a red star on it, should probably take the next step by putting their right hands over their hearts and take the loyalty oath to the PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan, who is jailed in a Turkish island since 1999.
Obama and his administration will be remembered as supporting groups that fight against their strategic NATO ally and giving the worse damage to the freedom fight of the Syrian nation. Looking at Obama denying to apologize for the atomic bomb attacks in Japan, it is unfortunate to say that the U.S. will regret its actions in Syria.
