Ghouta Rebels Are Back to the Fronts after their Agreement

After more than two weeks of clashes between Jaish Al-Islam (Army of Conquest) and Al-Rahman Legion , the two parties agreed on Tuesday to end the fighting between them and fully dedicate themselves to fight the Iranian militias and regime forces that are trying to advance in the eastern Ghouta.

A document of reconciliation between the two parties has been signed including six principles along with the formation of a committee of six people to oversee the implementation of the signed document items.

The agreement provided the releasing of detainees, putting an end to the cease-fire, prohibiting the use of arms among brothers, opening of public roads to civilians, returning civil institutions' properties to their owners, stopping the official media incitement as well as implementing the content of this principle immediately after signing the document.

It also stipulated considering the eastern Ghouta one residential inseparable geographical unit as well as abiding by full coordination and mutual cooperation to protect the fronts.   

As for the disputes between the two parties, the document provided putting all the conflicting points (fronts, weapons, headquarters, tunnels, property) in an agenda to organize the solution priorities within a timetable, in addition to an item stipulated resorting in assassination's cases to an agreed-upon trial and committing to implement its provisions. Finally, forming a committee for the approved civil activities; a committee in charge of communication and coordination between Al-Rahman Legion and Jaish Al-Islam and also responsible for media interviews about the progress of negotiations.  

Jaish Al-Islam issued a statement after the reconciliation in which he said that the agreement came as a result of negotiations, discussions and continuous meetings between representatives of Jaish Al-Islam and Al-Rahman Legion in the Qatari capital "Doha" under the patronage of the state of Qatar and under the supervision of the General Coordinator of the Supreme Commission for negotiations Mr. Riad Hijab.

It is noteworthy that regime forces exploited the current disputes and infighting among the major factions and expanded their military operations in the southern sector of Al-Ghouta by putting military pressure on several axes.
