Tartus and Jablah Blasts: Regime Bombs, ISIS Claims Responsibility

Ayman Muhammed, Baladi News

A few days ago, Moscow, through its Minister of Defense "Sergei Shoigu", has offered the United States and the international coalition led by Washington to launch joint airstrikes against what it called terrorist groups in Syria starting from the 25th of May, especially "Al-Nusra Front" the thing that was rejected by Washington, according to the statements of the spokesman of the US Department of Defense " Jeff Davis".

Moreover, United states has rejected a request by Russia to the international security council that stresses on putting Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic movement and Jaish Al-Islam (Army of Conquest) on the terrorism list, consequently, imposing sanctions on the two factions and excluding them from the agreed-upon ceasefire truce with Moscow.

The Russian envoy to the Security Council "Vitaly Churkin" offered on Tuesday 26 of April a request to the Sanctions Committee of "al-Qaeda" to include the two factions on the UN list for terrorist organizations along the lines of "ISIS and Al-Nusra Front".

Concurrently with the arrival of Russian aircrafts to Humaimam airbase, regime media sources confirmed that Moscow restored during the past two days a great number of "Su-24" aircrafts to the Russian base in Latakia in preparation to a new phase in Syria in which Russia starts and completes its previous aims in cooperation with the Syrian regime.

Pro-regime sources reported that the features of the coming phase will be shaped with fire and the terroristic organizations lists will be determined by the expected airstrikes by the Syrian government and its Russian allies, let alone that anyone who would bombard will be a terrorist and who abides by reconciliation will be reconsidered.

In conjunction with Moscow's calls and the refusal of Washington to bomb the armed factions of Syrian opposition, seven simultaneous explosions hit the coastal cities of Tartous and Jablah, which raises doubts about the real perpetrator and his target of the bombings, which have led to dozens of deaths and injuries among civilians, not to forget the timing of the blasts and the inaccessible and impenetrable places that have been targeted the regime areas strongholds.

Some analysts believe that the bombings targeting the fortified regime areas pose many questions and bring to the mind the outbreak of the Syrian revolution when the Syrian regime used to trump up bombings and exploit them in media aiming at distorting the image of the peaceful movement as well as sending a message to the whole world that it's targeted by "Terrorism". As usual, ISIS claimed its responsibility for the bombings in a statement published by A'mak news agency.

Such bombings raise many eyebrows among the regime loyalists as they hit fortified areas with dozens of checkpoints and hundreds of kilometers away from ISIS-held areas. They also wondered about the way the booby-trapped vehicles managed to enter the city despite crossing tens of checkpoints that are equipped with bomb-detecting devices. At the same time, opposed activists accused the regime's intelligence of trumping up such bombings in order to achieve political gains on the international level as well as military gains on the ground as Moscow, Tehran, and the regime are preparing for a massive attack on the liberated areas of Aleppo and its besiegement along with launching a massive attack on the eastern and western parts of Ghouta.

They also believe that there is an accordance between the regime and ISIS as the latter claims responsibility for all the bombings in regime-held areas to prove for its members that it is fighting the regime.

Analysts think that the regime and Russia are taking advantages from these bombings to justify their bombardment on the liberated Syrian areas under the pretext of fighting "terrorism", which the regime and Moscow have always used to kill any Syrian who calls for freedom and dignity along with overthrowing the regime who killed nearly 500 thousand Syrian over the past five years.
