Following about 180 days of blockade and long negotiations between the negotiating committee of the city and the regime, the latter gave the green light for entering bread to the devastated city.
An activist from the city, called Mukhtar, told Baladi News that 3,500 packets of bread were distributed to 45,000 families, which means 5 loafs were allocated for each family.
The activist indicated that the regime forces used the “carrot and stick” approach during the previous two days to force the residents to accept their conditions in return for allowing the entry of food to the city.
The regime had delegated journalist Rafiq Lotf to negotiate the citizens for a truce, which was refused by the rebels who saw it as surrender. After the failure of Lotf, another negotiator, Akram jamilah, was delegated, who promised to allow the entry of bread as a goodwill gesture.
