Two simultaneous bombings, preceded by attacks with hand grenades, hit Al Wosta Neighborhood of Al-Qamishli city in the north east of Syria on Saturday midnight.
Jamil Diarbakirli, director of the Assyrian Human Rights Monitor, said “Two booty-trapped car bombings targeted Miami street in the Christian majority neighborhood of Al Wosta, preceded by throwing hand grenades on the shops in the vivid street that is lined with several restaurants and cafes.”
According to the speaker, the attacks, which were waged by anonymous groups, killed 3 and wounded dozens of civilians, and caused big damages to the residential buildings and shops in the area.
Diarbakirli indicated that such attacks could be a massage to the Christians in the city, showing concern of bloodier scenarios that could be anticipated.
It is noteworthy that this is the third time bombings hit the city after the two attacks of 30 December 2015 and 2 January 2016, which killed about 24 civilians and for which ISIS claimed responsibility through its Aamaq News Agency.
