Three of the largest Russian oil companies operating in Moscow in the field of oil exploration have officially entered Syrian territories, and seized control over the oil wells that are left in the hands of Syrian regime in most of the areas under its control, especially in the countryside of Homs.
Moscow justified the entry of the largest Russian companies into Syria and seizing the Syrian oil by saying through its minister of Energy "Alexander Novak" that entering Syria came after intensive and multiple appeals made by the Syrian regime.
Novak said on Friday that Damascus has asked Moscow to assist them in oil drilling projects. He also told "TASS", the Russian news agency, on the margin of the "Russia- ASEAN" summit held in Sochi that "Syria has called on the Russian oil companies to assist them in rebuilding the infrastructure of energy.
Moscow has received the request submitted by the Syrian regime and approved it and will work on oil drilling projects and infrastructure development in Syria, according to the Russian minister.
It is noteworthy that the regime's official in Moscow "Riad Haddad" met the head of the Russian gas company "Gazprom", where they signed several agreements in the field of oil which will entitle Moscow to fully exploit the Syrian oil under the pretext of combating terrorism.
Russian troops had entered Syria to fight alongside the Syrian regime in late 2015 under the pretext of fighting terrorism, meanwhile Moscow had used those excuses to build a new military base on the Syrian coast, not to forget the dozens of massacres were committed by Russian warplanes in many Syrian governorates.
