In a statement issued on Wednesday evening, the Local Council of Aleppo sent a distress call to “humanitarian organizations and international bodies to save the last remaining life vein that connects the city to its northern countryside”.
The statement was made after “the continuous, systematic, fierce and terrorist aggression of the Kurdish PYD organization and the regime forces against Castello Road, which is the only life vein for supplying 400 thousand citizens in the liberated areas of Aleppo city with fuel as well as humanitarian, food and medical aid”. The statement indicated that “the aforementioned aggression threaten to aggravate the humanitarian disaster in Aleppo city if targeting Castello Road continues”.
The council appealed through its statement “humanitarian organizations and international bodies to intervene immediately to save the only remaining vein of life for Aleppo as well as ensure the continuation of humanitarian services, safeguard humanitarian workers, and take their legal and responsibilities duties”.
