Assad’s thugs and allies called on all “National Defense Forces” militias to kidnap any student heading from a liberated area in Homs or Hama country sides to regime-held areas. The allies also threatened to stop any means of transportation and arrest all students on board.
“The regime allies in the governorates of Homs and Hama are seeking revenge on students from liberated area after heavy casualties were inflicted on their militias in Al-zara village and Homs northern countryside”, activist Mohammed Al Olabi said to Baladi News.
The activist added that security and military tension as well as the escalated hate speech against citizens of liberated areas deprived hundreds of students of their right to take the examinations of preliminary and secondary certificates within the regime held-areas.
The activist indicated that most families prefer not to allow their children to head towards regime held-areas for fear of being kidnapped by national defense or Assad’s allies’ militias.
Every year, thousands of preliminary and secondary stage students have to go to the examinations centers in areas under Assad control to take their examinations, which makes them subject to a lot of risks. In addition, the destruction and closure of many schools in their areas which prevent them from attending classes and preparing for the exams appropriately during the school year.
