Baladi News – Al-raqqa (Kinan Sultan)
The Syrian Network for Human Rights indicated in a report issued on Saturday that the Syrian regime forces are deliberately targeting civilians in ISIS-held areas.
The report indicated that the Syrian regime air forces committed two massacres that caused the death of dozens of civilians by bombing residential areas in the ISIS-held city of Al-Raqqa on the 18th and 19th of March 2016.
According to the Network, the regime air forces targeted Al-Thakana neighborhood in the city on 18 March, killing 14 civilians including 4 children and 3 women and destroying 3 houses. The air forces also conducted three raids on a bus terminal (Al Karnak Square) in the middle of Tal Abyad street in Al-Raqqa city, which caused the death of other 14 civilians including two children and two women and wounded 50 others.
Emphasizing in its report that the bombardments targeted civilian areas that are void of any military manifestations or sites of ISIS, the human rights network demanded the Security Council again to refer the file of the Syrian regime crimes to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
