Baladi News – Aleppo (Ziad Al-halabi)
Regime forces, supported by their allied militias, attempted to advance towards several fronts in Aleppo city and countryside on Saturday morning, but the strong resistance of the rebels prevented them from achieving their goals. For the third day in a row, the recent clashes have caused dozens of casualties among the attacking forces, as well as heavy losses in military equipment.
The targeted areas included Karm Al Tarrab and Al Sheikh Saad in the southern part of Aleppo and Handarat camps of Palestinian refugees. As usual, the regime forces started their attacks with air strikes to pave the way for the ground forces to advance. However, the rebels thwarted the attackers and inflicted heavy losses on them.
On the other hand, the rebel forces waged fierce attacks against ISIS strong holds in Aleppo northern countryside, including Yahmoul village and the surrounding areas, whereas civilians were injured due to mortar shelling by the Syrian Democratic Forces on Azaz city.
