ISIS has seized control of the abandoned battalion near "Al-Tayfor" airbase and two checkpoints on Tuesday morning in the eastern countryside of Homs at the time when ISIS announced on its accounts shooting down a regime helicopter in Houises in the countryside of Homs.
The advancement of ISIS and its control over the regime areas came after shelling Al-Tayfor military airbase by heavy artillery and Grad missiles amidst continuous clashes in the vicinity of the airbase and under a severe shelling by Russian and regime warplanes on the strongholds of ISIS.
"A'mak" News Agency of ISIS reported that about "20" soldiers of regime forces were killed in the ongoing battles around the airbase.
For two years ISIS had launched several attacks on "Al-Tayfor" airbase and seized control over the abandoned tanks battalion five times before, where it used to withdraw after controlling the battalion , killing all its solders and seizing whatever weapons it found in every attack.
