Dozens of Assad regime fighters were killed and hundreds wounded by ISIS in al-Rasafa as groups of ISIS are fortified there, targeting Assad patrols and fighters.
Regime forces and their militias took control over al-Rasafa area and its archaeological castle after ISIS withdrawal during the war of the international coalition against ISIS at the beginning of 2017.
