299 members of the Syrian regime forces have been neutralized in Idlib, withing the Operation Spring Shield, Turkish Ministry of Defence announced Tuesday.
This announcement came in a statement issued by the ministry, in which it indicated that a Turkish soldier was killed and 9 others injured by the Assad regime forces in Idlib countryside.
The statement pointed out that Turkey retaliated immediately, and that it will not "leave the blood of its martyrs anymore."
"According to information we gathered from several sources in the region, 9 tanks, two artillery, 6 rocket launchers and two military vehicles were destroyed, while 299 elements were neutralized," the statement read.
On Tuesday, Turkish army shot down an L39 warplane belonging to Assad regime forces, bringing the number of downed warplanes to three, in addition to two helicopters, since the start of Turkish military operations in northern Syria.
Turkey has launched the Spring Shield military operation in Idlib province against Assad regime forces and their supporting militias, in response to a regime forces' attack against Turkish troops on Feb. 27, which attack killed more than 34 Turkish soldiers.
