In a report issued last Sunday, Syrian Network for Human Rights documented 27 massacres across Syria, including 19 committed by the regime forces and its allied militias, 3 by the Russian air forces, 3 by the opposition factions, and 3 by ISIS, meanwhile the International Coalition forces committed one massacre.

According to the network, a massacre is an event where at least five civilians are killed at once.

Aleppo had the biggest share with 13 massacres, followed by Deir Al Zor and Damascus countryside with 3 for each, Idlib and Homs with 2 for each, and Hama with one massacre.

The network confirmed that these massacres were intentionally committed against unarmed civilians in a grave violation to the provisions of international human rights law that protects the right to life, adding that “the massacres were committed under a non-international armed conflict, with qualifies them to be full-fledged crimes”

The network demanded for referring the situation in Syria to the International Criminal Court as well as stopping the obstruction of making decisions against Al-Assad’s regime, because that sends wrong messages to dictators around the world and promotes a culture of crime.

Regular reports documenting multiple types of violations against human rights are published by the network..
