The Assad regime and Russian warplanes carried out more than 123 airstrikes, Sunday, on Idlib's southwestern countryside, which airstrikes coincided with attempts by the regime forces to advance on the southern front lines of the province, Baladi News correspondent reported.
The airstrikes focused on the cities of Ariha and Kafr Nubl in the southern countryside of Idlib, Baladi correspondent pointed out.
The Assad regime forces carried out similar airstrikes in the eastern and western countryside of Idlib, and they were followed by artillery bombardment, according to Baladi correspondent.
The warplanes also targeted the city of Binnish in the north of Idlib.
The bombardment coincided with several attempts by the regime forces to advance in the southern countryside of Idlib, however, the opposition factions have thwarted their attempts.
This escalation comes after the arrival of military reinforcements for the regime forces to the front lines in the provinces, for the aim of taking control over the rebels' last stronghold.
