Fierce clashes are still continuing between opposition factions and jihadi groups on one hand, and regime soldiers and loyalists on the other, on frontlines in the south and west of Aleppo city and both eastern and south-eastern countryside of Idlib, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reports.
The clashes are accompanied by exchange of intensive shelling between both parties leaving 12 regime soldiers and 40 opposition fighters dead, SOHR adds.
Accordingly, the number of regime soldiers and loyalists who have been killed since the early hours of Sunday morning rose to 75. also 48 jihadis among 82 opposition fighters were killed in the same period, according to SOHR.
The rebels and Jihadi factions have launched an operation against regime forces and militias in Aleppo, in response to the capturing of Maarat al-Numan city in Idlib's countryside by Assad regime forces backed by Russian warplanes and Iranian militias.
