The Assad militias backed by Russian troops and mercenaries have taken control over the town of Maar Shoreen in the southern countryside of Idlib, following hundreds of airstrikes and artillery bombs that targeted the town.
By capturing this strategic town, the Russian and regime forces blocked the Damascus-Aleppo highway, and also blocked all the entrances of Maarat al-Numan to make it in the range of their fires.
Moreover, around 35 km of the M5 international highway became in the range of the regime forces' fires.
It is noteworthy that the regime forces, on Friday, took control of several villages and towns in south Idlib, following a heavy fire cover and conducting the scorched earth policy, and this comes after the failure of the Russian-Turkish negotiations on international roads in Syria.
