Damascus- Husam Mohammed – Baladi News
Whenever it comes to stopping the crimes of the Assad’s regime against the Syrian people who only demanded freedom and dignity, the international community uses procrastination and prevarication. Five years of procrastination and prevarication have served as an Arabic and international greenlight for the Syrian government to commit the most horrendous murders against Syrian people.
Still, Syrians of all affiliations, “whether they are moderate, Islamists, or even extremists, as well as politicians of all parties”, have not learned from the previous lessons of “massacres and abandonment”. After each crime, they beg the international community which itself says and insists that keeping Assad in power is important, and that the opposition must join a participatory government under Assad to eradicate terrorism.
Aleppo and the solution:
The Russians and Americans have agreed on a partial truce that includes some areas, a pause of Assad’s massacres here and there, and some none-bloody hours in Eastern Ghouta, but failed to include Aleppo in this conspiracy.
Excluding Aleppo has political, military, and even humanitarian implications through which Lavrov and Kerry intend to inform us that Aleppo must surrender to Assad either by political negotiations or as a result of Assad-Russian-American Holocaust.
Aleppo is of a great importance to the regime, the Russians, and even the Americans for two reasons; Aleppo is the economic capital of Syria, and preserving it would absolutely prevent the collapse of the Assad’s regime and keep the city as a source to fund the regime.
The second reason is the geographic factor as Aleppo lies in an important geographic area. The location of its countryside is important for the Americans ambitions of creating a Kurdish statelet on the Turkish borders in order to terrorize Turkey whenever they need that. This is subject to the extent of the American custody of Saleh Muslim militias and the Russian support for that.
What kind of fate will be awaiting the residents of Aleppo?
Many people may wonder about the consequences of this plan, but these consequences seems to emerge as Geneva III negotiations falter; The Americans gave the Russians the green light to crush the people of Aleppo in order to make them choose between two difficult choices, either accepting a reconciliation with Assad, or being expelled to Idlib like part of the people of Homs and Damascus as well as its countryside.
A dark and bloody plan is awaiting Aleppo and its residents as a result of the Russian-American-Israeli agreement to end the revolutionary movement, and its military wing in particular, by distracting it with battles against ISIS, which will only cause losses and bloodshed in the long run. On the other side, the armed Kurds and the foreign militias, supported by a Russian and American air cover, will have a prominent role in advancing towards the southern and northern country sides as well as the relatively calm western countryside of Aleppo.
What is the solution?
The solution was in the hands of the Syrian rebels during the peaceful phase of the revolution. However, this solution started to fade away gradually with the spread of weapons as a result of the crimes of the Assad’s regime, which caused the prevalence of factionalism, partisanship, and the empowerment of arrogant leaders as well as the domination of regionalism and multi-flags, which made the revolution go astray.
Today, the solution is crystal clear. The Syrian people must regain their right to self-determination rather than keeping it with the supporters and the regional or international players. In addition, factionalism, regionalism, and multi-flags must be avoided, Syrians must at least go for a mutual goal if it is not possible to unite under one flag. Diplomatic ties must also be severed because they have failed to stop the bloodshed, and new military and political leaderships must be elected, which would impose the conditions and demands of the rebels rather than complimenting the international community that became stained with the blood of the Syrians.
