Five civilians have been killed and many others injured Sunday by the airstrikes of Russian warplanes which targeted convoys of displaced people who were fleeing their houses in Maarat al-Numan, in Idlib's southern countryside, Baladi News correspondent reported.
The death toll is still uncertain as the Civil Defence's teams are finding difficulties in reaching the targeted area due to intensified bombardment, Baladi correspondent pointed out.
He confirmed that traffic has stopped on the highway which lead to the north.
It's noteworthy that thousands of civilians have been displaced in the past five days due to the intensified airstrikes launched by Assad regime and its Russian ally.
The military campaign launch by Assad-Russia alliance since Dec 15, resulted in the death of more than 80 civilians, 15 of then are children and more than 20 are women.
