Baladi News – Omar al-Hassan
Since the outbreak of the Syrian revolution, Assad Regime has used its media as a killing toll rather than a way to deliver news to the public. Thus, pro-regime journalists implemented this methodology and turned into killers, bragging about the atrocities, destruction, and bombardment conducted by the Syrian government, Russia, and Iran against the Syrian people who are punished for demanding their freedom and dignity.
A number of Syrian activists have shared a picture posted by a pro-Assad journalist who snapped a “selfie” of herself with a gruesome background that caused an outrage on social media.
Usually you snap a selfie on holiday, with your friends or when you are having a bit of fun, but this selfie with corpses from the Syrian journalist Kinana Allouch has left many shocked and horrified.
The veteran journalist works for Addounia TV, seen by many as a mouthpiece for the Assad regime. Her Facebook profile includes a picture of her posing with the brutal dictator, Bashar al-Assad.
Allouch who was wearing a military uniform in the gruesome “selfie” has violated the ethical principles of journalism, describing the civilians in the picture as “ terrorist “!
Alloush, also appeared in November with some bodies of Syrian opposition factions in the vicinity of the town of Paschoki, in the northern countryside of Aleppo, announcing the news of their death to the audience as : “ Assad's forces repulsed an infiltration attempt by “terrorists" !!
As a war tool, regime's journalists have published numerous pictures of dead civilians since the beginning of the peaceful revolution in Syria, and always referred to them as “ terrorists “. Who can forget Daria massacre, when the reporter "Micheline Azer" from pro-regime TV “Addounia” entered the city of “Daria” where Assad forces had committed a horrific massacre that claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent civilians, and broadcasted interviews with the wounded who were in serious condition, including children. Syrian activists called the reporter later “ the devil of Daria”. Weeks later Bashar al-Assad rewarded her for her criminality.
Images of dead civilians, including women, children and elderly, were always present in regime's media coverage, Shadi Helwe, another pro-regime journalist, had made many reports and interviews with wounded rebels while they were bleeding, with no consideration to the humanitarian aspect.
Observers say, that security forces of Assad regime, are the mastermind behind news coverage, to portray the Syrian government as the only force “fighting terrorism". A Syrian activist said: “no doubt Assad regime has a huge machine of destructive weapons to kill people and destroy their homes, but the most dangerous weapon, which is used by Assad and his intelligence is “lying “ to justify the killing of innocent people.
Observers believe that the intention of pictures is both a threat and an inducement. The dehumanization of the opposition and the need to exterminate it is a well-worn trope in regime circles.
