The Syrian National Army's spokesman Major Yousuf al-Hamoud said to Baladi News that the warplanes which targeted Northern Aleppo last night were Russian, and the aim of those airstrikes was to destroy the centers of oil refining in order to increase the people's suffering, and put more pressure on it to subjugate it.
"Russian warplanes launched around eight airstrikes on the oil refiners in the countrysides of Jarablus and Al-Bab, killing many civilians and causing serious damages in the refiners to deprive civilians from the fuel," Al-Hamoud added.
This is the first time in which Russian aircraft bombard the areas of Euphrates shield after they were liberated from the Islamic State (Daesh) by the Turkish forces and the Syrian National Army.
Observers said that an unprecedented increase in the price of fuel might happen due to the destruction of the oil refiners which used to provide Idlib and Aleppo countrysides with fuel after importing the crude oil from SDF controlled areas.
