Syrian opposition factions shoot down Russian drone south of Idlib

Baladi News

The Syrian opposition factions shot down a Russian drone in Idlib's southern countryside in the morning of Monday Sep.9.

The drone has been shot down near the town of Tamanea, after being targeted by the al-Fath al-Mubeen operations room, with anti-aircraft missiles, Baladi News correspondent reported.

Many Russian drones were seen in the area in the past few days, where they are used to provide the regime forces with the coordinates of civilian and military targets in Idlib's south, Baladi correspondent said.

On Wednesday Sep.4, the Syrian rebels have shot down another drone in Idlib's southern countryside.

Since the beginning of September, a ceasefire has been announced in Idlib -- the forth de-escalation zone in Syria.
