The rebels factions thwarted an attack bu the regime forces on the area of Kabineh in the northern countryside of Latakia Sunday.
The Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham-affiliated Ibaa news agency quoted a military source saying that the factions thwarted a progress attempt by the regime forces in Kabineh, and that fierce clashes took place in the area for many hours.
Meanwhile, heavy bombardment by Assad regime forces targeted the area.
At the same time, Russian warplanes and Assad helicopters targeted the area with more than 100 missiles and barrel bombs.
It's noteworthy that Assad regime and their loyalist militias, backed by Russia-affiliated Fifth Corps, have been trying to take control over the hills of Kabineh in Latakia's northern countryside. The importance of which hills, lies in their strategic location, where they overlook vast areas of al-Ghab plain and Idlib's countryside.
