Several members of the Islamic State (Daesh) launched an attack on positions of Assad and Iranian militias in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor Sunday.
The militants attacked positions of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) in the Syrian Desert, east of Deir Ezzor, local media sources reported without giving further details.
In a similar context, news was spread on Sunday about the disappearance of a group of the regime forces -- IRGC-affiliated -- in the desert, where local sources said the group has been likely ambushed by Daesh.
In July 25, several members of the regime forces have been killed by Daesh in the desert during a search operation where they were looking for other regime troops who disappeared in the desert as well.
Since the announcement of its defeat, Deash waged several attacks against regime forces and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the countrysides of Hassakeh and Deir Ezzor, and killed dozens of the targeted groups.
