Airstrikes halted after ceasefire in Idlib

BALADI NEWS

The province of Idlib has witnessed complete calm since Friday midnight August 2, after months of escalation by Assad and Russian forces, where they were targeting the cities and towns of the province with all kinds of weapons, killing hundreds of civilians and displacing more than 500,000.

Baladi News correspondent confirmed that no warplanes or helicopters were seen over Idlib, Hama, and Latakia's countrysides, except for the area of Abu Al-Dhuhur, where Russian warplanes were seen at 1.00 a.m Damascus Time.

However, an artillery bombardment was recorded in the town of Latamineh and the village of Azzakat in Hama's northern countryside, after eight hours of complete calm, Baladi correspondent said.

Ahmad Ramadan, a member of the Syrian National Coalition, has tweeted that a ceasefire will take place on August 2 after midnight.

Observers recorded raids with barrel bombs by the regime forces in the city of Khan Sheikhoun, two minutes before the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, according to FP correspondent.

The Assad government has agreed yesterday on the ceasefire in Idlib if the safe zone agreement is implemented.
