Rebels regained control of the villages of "Kasagik, Tal Ahmar, Al-Khalaftaly, Tal Battal, Tal Shoa'ir, And Mazra'et Shahin" in the northern countryside of Aleppo on Monday, after clashes with ISIS who broke into these villages on Sunday.
Rebels captured 8 members of ISIS, pointing out that till the time of preparing the article the fighting is continuing, aiming at restoring all the areas controlled by ISIS on Sunday, according to Baladi News correspondent.
ISIS mounted a surprise attack on the rebels-held areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo and regained control of the strategic town of Al-Ra'i along with advancing in 12 villages in the region at the expense of the rebels.
The border town of Al-Ra'I is of strategic importance, especially that it's a connecting point among the northeastern regions of the countryside of Aleppo, in addition to being a humanitarian crossing during the period before ISIS domination since nearly two years.
The rebels control of Al-Ra'i town leads to cut the supply road of ISIS connecting Al-Bab and Jarablos, which will force them to resort to other roads such as the international highway near Al-Bab connecting the cities of Manbej and Jarablos.
It should be noted that ISIS has dominated Al-Ra'i town for the first time in the second month of 2014, after carrying out several suicide bombings inside the town targeting rebels' battalions.
