Rebel faction targets sites of S-300 and S-400 in Hama

BALADI NEWS

Syrian opposition factions have fired more than 50 grad projectiles on several sites for Assad, Russian and Iranian militias in the western countryside of Hama, Monday night.

The opposition factions in two successive times have fired several rockets against the sites of Assad forces and their supporting militias in the vicinity of Mesyaf city, in the western countryside of Hama, Baladi News correspondent reported.

It's noteworthy that this is the first time where the opposition factions target the military base of Masyaf.

On its social media pages, the Islamic faction of Ansar Al-Tawheed has claimed responsibility for the operation pointing out that the shelling targeted the Russian airbase in the west of Masyaf, where Russian S300 and S400 air defence systems are deployed.

Pro-Assad media reported blasted in the vicinity of Masyaf, claiming that the blasted caused by a "foreign aggression", and that the air defence systems repelled the attack. Later on, the same sources said that the attack was by the rebel factions.

It's worthwhile that Masyaf city is surrounded from all directions with several Iranian and Hezbollah military bases, and they have continuously gone under Israeli airstrikes, despite the deployment of Russian S300 and S400 air defence systems in the same area.
