Iranian media has confirmed that "The military advisor in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and two of the Mobilization Forces known as the (Basij) have been killed during the fighting in Syria".
Sources have clarified that the military advisor "Amir Rida Mohammed Yan was killed on duty, while the other two were killed during battles in the north of Syria against the so-called terrorists (Takfiris).”
The number of the Iranian military casualties in Syria has risen to 223 since the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps declared increasing the number of their military advisors in Syria at the end of last October.
Assad’s Regime depends mainly on the “IRGC”, Hezbollah militias and others in its fighting against rebels. Iran has lost a significant number of its troops in the battles, including senior military officers in “IRGC” .
Iran had lately confessed sending additional special ground forces to support Assad’s Regime, as the “IRGC” Navy coordinator ,Ali Arastih, said: "Members of the Special Forces Brigade 65 are now performing an advisory role in Syria".
