The Assad regime forces backed by Russia recaptured the village of Hamameiat and its strategic hill after destroying it entirely as its obvious in the picture published by a Russian news agency today.

After capturing the village and its hill by the opposition factions, Russia and regime forces started the attempts to recapture it, using all the military airports, where more than 16 warplanes targeted the area, rendering the village completely destroyed, reliable sources said to Baladi News.

Activists documented more than 500 airstrikes, where more than 200 barrel bombs were dropped and 600 thermobaric missiles were shot, in addition to more than 1000 artillery shells.

Despite the intensified shelling, the opposition factions hindered 9 progress attempts by the regime forces, but in the tenth attempt the regime forces succeeded after attacking the village from three axis, the source added.

However, more than 80 members of the regime forces and their backers were killed, and two armored vehicles were destroyed.

It's noteworthy that the opposition factions captured the village on Wednesday following fierce clashes with the regime forces, where the former seized a tank and armored vehicle, and killed around 100 members of the regime forces.
