Amid war and disasters , people need for aid and help intensifies, and governments stand paralyzed in front of this catastrophe due to clashes and bombardment , and the Syrian war has led to the displacement of more than 10 million people, the death of thousands, and the detention of more than a million .
As a response for this crisis, UN started to send aid , but according to a report for the "New York times" that “85 % of United Nations food aid, and more than 70 % of medicines, have remained in regime-held areas.
Abd-alaziz, a Syrian journalist, told Baladi News that " it is well known that fighting and destruction occur mainly in rebel-held areas due to the constant targeting of regime forces to these places , on the contrary , areas controlled by Assad's forces haven’t witnessed any destruction or bombing , which means that they do not really need aid , especially since most Syrian refugees did not flee to those areas, and they preferred to seek a refuge in neighboring countries or stay in rebel-held areas.
Some activists say that most of UN aid is taken by Assad's forces , backing their claims with dozens of videos and pictures from areas seized by rebels after battles with the Syrian regime forces.
Activist (Abo-ammar) said: " we saw a lot of UN aid boxes, marked with the humanitarian organization's symbol "the red crescent", inside many Assad's army bases during a battle near Idilb city, a year ago.
Journalist (Saleh) commented on that by saying: "it became familiar to see UN aid tents used by pro- Assad units, and they are obvious in videos published by Assad troops themselves , or published by Russian media , where u can find some videos and pictures, showing Assad soldiers covering their tanks with UN tents.
Some activists from Derra city published some videos showing parachutes used to drop aid to Assad sieged unites , many of these parachutes were sized by FSA, as in Jasim town ,and the video shows food cans with UN's symbols on them, as activist said.
Beside Seizing foreign aid and channeling it towards government loyalists, the Syrian regime is selling foods at exorbitant prices, putting millions of Syrian lives at risk, and according to a report published by Orient News Network :" people are dying in the besieged areas by Assad troops, while the shops in pro-Assad areas have plenty of food , seized from UN aid convoys .
Most of the videos and pictures coming from Syria show that UN aid is directly used by Assad's forces , while people who are in real need are left to starve or receive aid from other resources , according to Saleh .
