Militias of the Lebanese Party known as "Hezbollah" continue to tighten the siege on Al Zabadani city and isolate it from its surroundings within the starvation policy pursued in many of the cities in the northwestern part of Damascus countryside, in an attempt to apply the demographic change policy followed by the party to change the demographic and geographic reality of the countryside.
A number of regime and "Hezbollah" members, centered at the checkpoints around the city, have built new sand barriers in the eastern area of Al Zabadani, so as to tighten the noose of besiegement, according to a field activist.
He pointed out that movements of the regime forces and Hezbollah coincided with opening fire against the surrounding areas of Al Zabadani city and the adjacent town of Madaya leaving behind no causalities.
One of the opposition groups, "Kemal Al Labwani", expressed his concerns regarding the seriousness of the military, field, and demographic situation which is threatening Al Zabadani city north of Damascus. He said to Baladi news that "Hezbollah has already destroyed Al Zabadani and we dealt with tolerance with his movements around the city".
Al Labwani's statements come at a time when Al Zabadani plain is witnessing a suspicious movements by members of Hezbollah. Our sources have confirmed that Hezbollah is fencing the plain with barbed wires, concrete blocks and sand barriers. We have also discovered attempts of digging in order to completely separate the plain from the city.
Hezbollah has resorted to exploiting the truce and the relative calmness at the fronts in Qalamoun to transport massive equipment and machinery, confirming the stringent security moves that hang over the transporting process.
"Al Labwani" explained that the number of militants in Al Zabadani is no more than 150, noting that it's quite hard to protect the city with such a number. He thinks that confronting Shiite threat posed by Iran and Hezbollah would not be possible without the full national support with the assistance of a regional and international alliance.
Regime members and militias of Hezbollah deployed a few days ago along the road between Damascus and Al Zabadani, which is adjacent to the towns of Baqin and Madaya, and carried out a combing operation on both sides of the road, and ended with planting additional mines in the region.
Some images from inside the towns of Madaya and Al Zabadani in the west of the Syrian capital, documented the effects of the siege and starvation policy pursued by the Syrian regime that resulted in the death of many civilians.
The two towns are besieged by both regime forces and Hezbollah militias who are banning anyone from leaving the region, knowing that the number of civilians in Madaya exceeds 40,000 people, and are forced to eat cats, grass and waste.
The rebels' sources have documented the death of more than 150 people of Hezbollah in Al Zabadani, and double the number in the regime forces, civil defense and others, in addition to hundreds of wounded who were killed during the battles in the city.
