The Kurdish Units launched an anti- tank attack against the Turkish forces in Tel Rifaat, northern Syria, killing a soldier injuring 5 others, the Turkish National Defense Ministry said on June 9.
The Turkish forces responded to the attack with retaliatory fire, the statement added.
There were signs of disagreement between Russia and Turkey in northern Syria, when Moscow established three observation points in cooperation with the Kurdish units in Tel Rifaat, and deployed joint patrols in the contact lines with the Turkish forces in Azzaz, northern Aleppo.
Turkey considers the Kurdish presence in the Syrian north as the biggest threat for its national security, and vows with a military operation east of Euphrates river to eliminate the Kurdish militias which threaten its borders.
