Eight Hezbollah militants were killed in fighting in Aleppo over the weekend, a Lebanese security source told The Daily Star.
While Nahranet reported that a monitoring group said that at least 12 Hezbollah militants have been killed in clashes in the southern countryside of the northern Syrian province of Aleppo.
At least 25 pro-Assad militants died in clashes south of Aleppo Saturday, where opposition fighters captured a hill overlooking a major highway, the monitoring group told the AP.
The monitoring group said fighting continued throughout the day close to the village of Tal al-Ais, which overlooks the main road connecting Aleppo with the capital, Damascus.
The opposition fighters engaged in heavy fighting with the Assad’s army and its allied Hezbollah, Syrian, Arab and Asian militants, the monitor added.
The clashing follows weeks of air raids on opposition-held areas despite a partial cease-fire which went into effect in February.
