The Kurdish Units-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), backed by the US-led coalition, has sent military reinforcements to al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor in preparation to wage a military operation against Assad regime's forces and Iranian militias on the banks of Euphrates river, a reliable source close to the Kurdish Units said.
The SDF will send more reinforcements to other areas around the same oil field in the following few weeks, the same source added.
The source pointed out that the aim of the operation is to block the land rout against the Iranians (Tehran-Baghdad-Damascus-Beirut), and it also aims to prevent the regime forces and Iranian militias from establishing military bases in the region.
The military operation might be waged at any time, and its launching depends on the regime and its allies presence in the area, according to the source.
Finally the source said that the International Coalition Forces have sent reinforcements to the region, including armoured vehicles, four-wheel vehicles, and logistic equipment for this aim.
