The Working Group for Palestinian in Syria said the Syrian security forces conceal the fate of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in their prisons, despite the constant demands for their release and the disclosure of their fate.
The organization pointed out that children, women, elderly, brothers, fathers, and entire families were arrested by Assad regime, stressing that hundreds of them died under torture.
The organization confirmed it documented 1748 Palestinian prisoners in Al-Assad prisons, whose fate is still unknown, pointing to the difficulty of documenting the Syrian Palestinian detainees due to the fact that the detainees' families fear of talking about their sons being arrested.
The organization noted that the detainees are subjected to all kinds of torture, in which 548 Palestinian refugees were killed, 77 of whom were identified through the leaked photos of torture victims.
